Well liberals want citizens to things based on whether or not they want to do something. While conservations still want people to do what they want but, they want what the citizens want to be nothing radical. Also if you are a liberal what you do should be more for helping the community and striving for equality. While conserative is more for yourself and following traditional thought. Labels are not necessarily negetive but, they are necessary to let individuals understand politics to a better degree.

Well I didn’t read what I was suppose to read and I’m late for your class if I read it then blog. So I figure for us the best thing in this sitution is to just write a small amount of nothing so you think I wrote something worth your while. Did you know that today is Jackie Chan’s father’s,Charlie Chan, deathdate he die last year. He most of been proud of his high flying son. What was your favorite movie with him in it?

Liberals believe in active role of government. Libertarions believe in individual rights. Conservatives believe in limited role of government expect when traditions are threatened. Property rights fall under both Conservative and Libertarian. While reproductive and sexaul rights fall under Liberal and Libertarian. Libertarian want whatever the individuals want. Liberal want all the individuals to decide what they want but, make it the same. Conservatives want all to follow one set of rules.

The first article I read by Frank from the book, “What price the Moral High Ground?” It is mostly about business ethics and how selfish people can be, of young adults as they start out in the world and what moral they will abide to based on the college education they received. Information in this article included results of a survey in which college students were ask what do the want in a job or career. The 1st and 2nd answers were Provide an opportunity to use my special skills, and provide an opportunity to earn a great deal of money. “The average human being is about 95 percent selfish in the narrow sense of the word.” Gordon Tullock. The tenth answer was Provide an opportunity to help others.
The second article by David Callahan in the book “the cheating culture” touches upon the lack of individualism in the 1960′s and how it moved to the forefront of American Culture during the 1960′s. Before the 1960′s people didn’t have to prove anything to other people about themselves they did what they wanted to. The goverment had less control of the people. New ideas arose of human rights, enviromental rights, and animal rights. All examples of people caring for something other than themselves.

The thrid article was from “Ethics for the real life”, Howard. Every conquering temptation represents a new fund of moral energy. “Every trail endured and weathered in the right spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger than it was before,” William Butler Yeats. Choosing to Avoid situtations that may harm you or anyone you in anyway. Transform Lies: Tell the whole truth, in friendships barriers can be made if a lie is told by one party and believed by the other. Broken Promises it is ethical wrong to break a promise in a relationship. Theft doesn’t help build good character.

The four article, Ethics and the Enviroment by Dale Jamieson. Consequentialism, Virtural ethics, and kantianism all use with the enviroment. Humans aren’t the only organisms with interests plants have interests and feeling too.

These pages talk about deciding what path the writer wants to go down when writing a paper. The direction they choose to take is very important in making a good paper worth reading.

So far if my calculations are correct we have used two of the four Strategies of Synthesis provided to us in class. The two we have used were summarize the argument then raise a question, and describe an approach then analysis. The two we are yet to use are “lens” or “contact” and summarize and then point out an incompleteness. Only four booooooo yaaaaaaahh.

The privileges of being a guy

I don’t think men get up each day and say, “thank gosh for all the privileges I have over being a woman. I know woman have clear disadvantages but, I don’t regonize the privileges males have”. In this article Peggy writes that men need to have lesser privileges. Why not just bring the women’s privlieges up to the same level as the men. Then we would all be on the same level but, noone would have to loss anything just gain.
In the second part of the article about white privilege Peggy speaks direct against DeMott’s theroy that racism is more associted with the living situations of a person and poverty. She says that race receives privlieges then religion, class, or geographical location.
My alernative view would be that people are changing the privlieges of whites and males overall but they are not going down they are going up. So are the privlieges of all the other citizens they are going up and alittle bit faster. But since for such a long time white males have been on top they will keep there privlieges ahead of the others for as long as they can. But the other races and females will catch up and when all the privlieges are going up equally then we are equal.

There are sterotypes about all different races. In movies there sterotypes are demostrated and brought up to sell the movie. Just because, blacks and whites pretend to be friends in movies doesn’t mean all blacks need a white friend.
People are always going to show off something they have that others don’t like a yacht, fancy car, house, or other obejects. Some people feel the need to show of their friendships. My Grandfather does exactly what is article talks about. He is friends with a black man Mr. Douglas who has know my grandpa along time and another black man Mr.Vega. They all worked together at a firehouse when they were younger. My grandpa likes them because, they laugh at his dumb jokes and respect him. He knows they are black he told me alot during the election. He would say, “That Obama he is no go for this country… I have black friends but I don’t like him”.
That is what the article doesn’t touch upon and I don’t have an answer for yet cause I don’t have friends. People that you call friends doesn’t have to do with what they are or do it has to do with what you like about them.
During the 70′s and 80′s it was farout to have a black friend. During the 90′s it was fun to act black ex. Vanilla Ice, Emenim. But during 00′s there was as much tension between any American due to 9/11 coming together, then some many historic black land marks in politics, education, sports were passed. Times are changing and soon people will just see black and white as different cultures not races. That is what they are some black colored people live their lives more like a generic white person and some whites live their lives as generic black people. There are different degrees there is alot of gray area.

The text of “what you eat” is very intuned with the idea of saying something and sticking to it. The Father thru out the story makes the son eat what every he kills. At the end of the story the son tries to get the father to kill him to see if the father keeps to his own rules. It is about obeying your own set of what is right.

The Method

This exercise took our class outside of the classroom into the Daura Gallery next door. I found a painting after scan other paintings in and out, that caught my interest. The piece of work that I decided to write about was called Comp’ny Com’in by Queena Stovall. One hat caught my eye first with red lettering on it so I moved to read what it said it said Coca Cola. Then scanning the picture for similar kids of details I found the same red writing on a box that said Campell’s Soup. Other details of the painting is how the family is standing on the porch to welcome comp’ny, while one older woman and man are fix’in supper. Also the house has two different sidings and the walk path down the middle of the picture is very detailed. I will do some histortic background on he Coca Cola and Campell Soup, and if it was common during country life or a treasure or other.
